Gridview onrowupdating onrowupdated Fukinggirls
I'm trying to update the xml file in the Row Updating event as follows - protected void gv Main_Row Updating(object sender, Grid View Update Event Args e) My dataset "ds" is null. Data Source always gives you null for this u need to fill agin dataset from xl and update the row of dataset and using data adapter u need to update the dataset to xml u also need to use command builder for creating commands for upading dataset to database(XML) Data Source property of Charge Grid View would be null after the postback since it is not persisted in View State but data is showing after the post back only because of view state of inner control of gridview ..To cancel the update operation, set the collections, if necessary, before the values are passed to the data source.A common way to use these collections is to HTML-encode the values supplied by the user before they are stored in the data source. (Note, in the gridview the Enable View State="False" - if I set it to True I get the standard "Failed to load viewstate. error) One strange thing that I've noticed that makes me think it's a View State problem is that if I change the Command Name of the Update button to "Edit" that postback event does get captured in the Row Command event... The Row Editing event is raised when a row's Edit button is clicked, but before the Grid View control enters edit mode.A Grid View Updated Event Args object is passed to the event-handling method, which enables you to determine the number of rows affected and any exceptions that might have occurred. You can also indicate whether the exception was handled in the event-handling method by setting the On Row Updated Row Canceling Edit On Row Canceling Edit Row Deleted On Row Deleted Row Deleting On Row Deleting Row Editing On Row Editing Row Updating On Row Updating Grid View Class System.
Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate.
The Row Updating event is raised when a row's Update button is clicked, but before the Grid View control updates the row.
This enables you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as canceling the update operation, whenever this event occurs.
Within the Item Template I have an Image Buttong with a Command Name of "Edit".
This works as expected and I can put a breakpoint in the Row Command event handler to see the "Event" command name.
